IRIS

OSU STUDENT ORGANIZATION

Background

IRIS (Interdisciplinary Resource for Innovative Students) is a Student Organization at The Ohio State University dedicated to promoting design thinking and innovation across all disciplines. I joined IRIS in 2018,  just one semester after its founding. Over the next 3+ years, I created brand guidelines, marketing material, apparel and much more. Later in my involvement, I became the VP of External Relations. In this role, I organized and ran student driven innovation workshops while connecting with Columbus’s innovation community.

THE BRAND

Although I joined IRIS a semester after it was founded, the organization was still small and lacked cohesive branding. To appeal to a wider base of students, I worked with the IRIS executive team to create the logo on the right. The bands of colors represent different disciplines coming together to look at problems through a new lens (or iris). Next, I formed the set of brand guidelines shown below along with templates for stationary, email communications and meeting documents

MEETING FLYERS

Throughout my time in IRIS, one of my main responsibilities was to create meeting flyers like the ones featured below. This was an important part of our marketing strategy and differentiated us from other student organizations.
